Planning for a route early July. Day 4 is Biggar to Erables. Have been through the Three Mile to Maple stretch and wanted to do something different.
As far as Jeff's says, Birchcliffe has beaver dams (damns) but less portaging and both that route and along Maple suffer in low water but was wondering if people had inputs about either route.

Didn’t one of Mark in the Park’s episodes have him tackle Birchcliffe Creek. You should watch it (see recent Trip Reports threads) to see if your up for it.

hey, I just came back from a Kiosk to Erables, to Birchcliffe Cabin, to North Tea, to Kiosk 4 day trip....
Erables to Birchcliffe was doable in a day, going from Erables down to the Cabin.... long day though. Most of the portages have some decent blowdown (large pine trees, multiple trees etc).
However, the stretch of creek from Biggar to Birchcliffe is a different story. I will be posting a video on you tube in the coming weeks, but long story short it took us from 930am until 730 PM to get from the Cabin to the mouth of the creek on Biggar.... we basically cut our way through the entire way... Maybe someone will enjoy our efforts but needless to say I will never travel that route ever again for as long as I live.

Thanks for the feedback.
Considering you just did trail maintenance...
