Good afternoon all,
Recently people were asking about campsites on Catfish L and Cedar Lake, plus there was some discussion about travelling from Cedar to Burntroot etc and it made me remember my second trip into the Park some years ago.Sorry about the quality of recording and editing, both of which are being worked / improved upon year over year.
Regardless, this trip was one of my favourites to date. Tons of good memories and locations and this trip really set the table for me personally on how I want to enjoy the park in the future. Thanks to Troy (MaddyTheGoose) for his videos that inspired me early on to try something like this, and providing a great trip route to follow!

Cheers!

Thanks for posting. It brings back memories for myself as well.
Back in the 90's, we were allowed to go in on the Friday before trout season started on Saturday. We were in for 17 nights. Started at Cedar and proceeded to portage over Catfish Mountain to Catfish Lake. I wasn't feeling that well at the start of this trip and we managed to get to the end of the 2345m portage, MINUS the canoe which was still back about 400m. Still not feeling well, we decided to go to bed early only to be awakened by a Warden. He thought we were fishing as there was no canoe on campsite. Asked for our permit and then disappeared into the forest. This was the same trip where two fishermen we met on the 2345m portage had their fishing rods taken from their campsite on Burntroot during a thunderstorm. Luckily, I had an extra reel that I could lend them (they were from Ottawa like me) and another party loaned them a fishing rod. After this happened, I slept every night with my fishing rods in my tent. As I always say, I am more concerned about people when camping than I am of bears!
