For some reason when I seen this photo the portage from Whiskey Jack to Robinson instantly came to mind?

Hilliard?

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it.

Re: Where in Algonquin #288

Neither Robinson, Pinetree, nor Hilliard...

...Hilliard is closest.

Re: Where in Algonquin #288

Hint: Given its name, you would expect its waters to flow in a certain way, and yet they don't.

Re: Where in Algonquin #288

Not Whatnot, Westward, Louisa.

My hint was not so great, I guess...so a bit more explicit: It's not the source of the river with the same name! It's not even in the same watershed!

I might be wrong about that, but I checked a few maps and was surprised.

Re: Where in Algonquin #288

Not Madawaska. You’re on the right track, though.

More hints? Ok. It’s south of highway 60.

I think you got it. From Big Porc?

Re: Where in Algonquin #288

Yep. It is Bonnechere Lake as you approach from Big Porcupine.
Bonnechere Lake is not the source of the Bonnechere River. I found that surprising. I think this lake is in the Madawaska River watershed. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Shawn D....yer up!
