Thinking about doing a loop in late September and I was looking at a 6-7 nighter staying on, Tom Tompson-Timberwolf-Misty Forks-White Trout-Sun Beam-Tom Tompson with possibly an extra night on White Trout. anyone done this trip or something like it in early Fall? Any advice re: better options/ fishing or otherwise would be appreciated.

I did that loop in September two years ago. There is good variety...big, small lakes, rivers, swamp. The portages are frequent and the two portages from Willow to Bartlett were really one long one as the lake in-between had dried up. Didn't fish so can't help you there.
Here's my trip report:

I did a somewhat similar route last September. I did Canoe --> Little Otterslide --> Big Trout --> Red Pine Bay --> Burntroot --> White Trout --> Sunbeam. So it's got a bit of overlap with what you're planning.
Here is my trip report with some in-depth campsite pictures/descriptions and other stuff:

Part 2:
The route I did wasn't too intense portage wise, and the campsites I managed to stay at were almost all gorgeous, some immediately became all-time favourites. Who knows, maybe it will convince you to change up your route

Thanks guys,
Great trip reports, I've had the maps out and all of a sudden everything is up in the air, good thing about the last week of September is there's not rush. Me and a friend of mine did the loop around Opeongo-Big Crow-Lavieille-Dickson route in 2016 and we didn't see a soul except a few boats on Opeongo, plus we got to see this fella.
