WINTER FINCH FORECAST 2017 - 2018

GENERAL FORECAST: Cone crops in the Northeast are bumper in 2017. It is the best cone crop in a decade or more. This will be a banner winter to see boreal finches in central and northeastern Ontario...

Info on other bird species as well and where to go, APP included.

Thanks for sharing that!  I bet the red squirrels will be pretty excited to learn that as well.

YW... still lots of green poplars on the APP webcam so the fall colors may be extended later than usual. The hot weather we've been having recently might have delayed some migrating birds so the birding at the airfield and other usual spots might also be extended.

If you are driving the Arowhon road to get to the Mizzy lake trail, the news there is a fox den in the area and the fox family there has become quite tame.

Tame fox, appears to be Arowhon road and Mizzy trail....  (actually where the old railway intersects the Arowhon road going towards Mizzy lake trail).
