This location is a little rockier than Upper Spectacle.

Reminds me of the easternmost site on Daisy but based on the clues, that seems unlikely.

Not Daisy. The thing you need to remember is that I don't have have much imagination and the guess of Upper Spectacle is actually pretty close.

At the risk of overly repeating myself, and taking into account the "not much imagination" hint I'm thinking this is actually one of the campsites on the Barron River immediately after exiting the canyon

Not Lower Spectacle nor Pretty. I'm pretty sure that this lake has the distinction of being one of the few lakes in Algonquin that Peek hasn't visited. I'm not sure whether you have or not Martin.

Not Lower Hurdman. I am not using "actually pretty close" ironically. (And I'm also quite confident that Peek has visited Lower Hurdman.)
