Re: WIA #479

Not Jake Lake.  Ooze, Rouge, and Little Tarn are the closest so far.

Re: WIA #479

Not McDonald.  Although that is the closest guess so far.

Re: WIA #479

p.s.  You've been to this lake Martin, as has Peek, John Connelly and I'm sure, many other members of this forum.

Re: WIA #479

Not Narrowbag.  Much closer to McDonald than to Narrowbag.

Let me put this WIA out of its misery.

But first I am going to arbitrarily disqualify Peek.

If you have been reading the trip reports over the years, you would know this lake as the site of an encounter between Peek and a wolf.  (But if my memory on this is faulty, I'm going to be very embarrassed.)

Re: WIA #479

Wenda. But it looks like you are on some sort of clearing. Like an old Depot Farm. Is there a story there?

Re: WIA #479

Yes, Wenda Lake.  Is there a story there?  Probably, but I don't know what it is.  Diana remembers there being faint signs of an old building foundation amongst the raspberry bushes.  I don't remember that one way or the other.  But there used to be a winter road that came over the hill from Grand Lake so some sort of building here would not be unreasonable.  I'm not sure how that would relate to the ranger cabin though.
