    No but interestingly enough if you drew a line between those two places I think you would paddle through this spot.

    I just got the map out and yes, a line between those two spots crosses exactly over this picture.

    Looks like the upper end of the first section of the portage from Pen to Welcome along the Galipo River.

    Yes, but head creek is a pretty wide area and this spot is easily identified by the portage around it.

    Here is a picture of my boys staring over the brink.

    And astoundingly if you draw a line from high falls on York river (the first guess) to the high view cabin on the Nipissing (the second guess) it goes directly through this portage.
