I find my feet sweat so much anything close to 'waterproof' can't allow my sweat through the waterproof membrane fast enough and I end up with wet feet for a different reason.

I just wear sturdy but not waterproof hiking boots with good wool socks and accept my feet will be wet from the moment I load the canoe to the time I change into light weight camp shoes and dry socks.  I take two pair of 'traveling' socks where I alternate day over day so I'm putting mostly-dry socks on in the morning each morning.

Almost like I have a twin ;)

I use quilts when ham I king and would recommend Little Shop of Hammocks- Canadian and accurate to comfort ratings.

Over the years have bought a couple hammocks and a custom tarp from them.  Great customer service.

On the rare occasions I'm in a tent, quilt and a pad works well (though I'd use a regular sleeping bag in real cold).

Not to hijack the thread, but what is the need for additional electrolytes while tripping?  Is it a gung-ho tripping style like a marathon/race where you don't have time to stop and eat a meal or drink water?

I understand what electrolytes are, the question isn't 'why electrolytes', but what is their purpose as a supplement beyond your normal diet?

And apologies in advance for our government.

Most of my time to trip is July and August so portaging (or even just canoeing) on a 35 degree day means a lot of sweat for me.

LMNT is highly rated with a range of electrolytes included, not just sugar and salt.  American though.
Biosteel is okay.

Always keep a tube of nuun in my first aid kit.

4 in a day?  Is that a record?

I'll guess Philip.

Last couple times I was there mid-summer, it looked like there were numerous people camping off permit based on how hard it was to find a site.  One trip I couldn't and ended my trip a day early because of it.

That could be part of the reason.

I really enjoyed that site.  Especially as it was the only site I was able to get to with the wind.
