Yep, the cart trail runs right behind the campsite on Wright lake.
  I've used the cart path several times. It's only the last part where it joins up with the portage between Bonfield and Dickson that is tough going. When we get to that part, the bags are carried and the canoe is semi rolled/lifted the rest of the way. Bring lots of water. I think Dickson still has an algae problem.

Those Bending branches paddles look very nice.  I may have to upgrade! I use a Carlisle Magic Plus Kayak Paddle. I like it but, I do get a bit of water in the boat. It is my go to paddle when soloing my Swift Algonquin 16.

It depends on what kind of transducer your unit has.  Mine has a suction cup mount like this one that you need to remember to pull up before landing the canoe or you`ll wreck the transducer.

@ Dontgroandaddy  Very fine science!  I believe you to be the newest Algonquinologist.  

I was through there three years ago and David creek was not a problem. We didn't even get our feet wet.  A couple of lifts near the lake, then clear paddling.  The portage was a nice, long walk in the woods.  We had no difficulty following the portage.  There was a bridge that was out,  crossing a creek about two thirds of the way to Rosebary.  It was fast flowing and deep when we crossed it. We had one guy jump across first and then tossed the packs across. Then slid the canoe across. And then the second guy jumped over.  We probably should of found some logs or floated across up stream although I seem to recall, that didn't seem like a good idea at the time due to the fast current.

What about Opeongo? No portages so you can bring as many coolers as you want.
