Between Frank's Lake and Rence?  The river portion between portage and where the lake opens up, looks longer than I remember, but we did have to get out and pull the canoe from the shore as some of the bends weren't navigable.

Last time I was through that area, Kooy Pond was pretty dried up so essentially it was one long portage from Willow to Bartlett Lake.  Don't remember there being too much mud so shouldn't be overly difficult just keep in mind that it's going to be close to a 1 Km long portage.

I think that the cabin is good if you are travelling in the shoulder seasons.  It would be nice to have a wood burning stove during the cold sub zero nights in early spring or late fall.  I stayed in the cabin during a trip in mid July and was very happy to cross the lake and stay at the campsite at the mouth of the Crow River for my second night on Big Crow and sleep in my hammock.

I have a trip booked for June 14th so I'm a little nervous about a partial cancellation with the 'announced' opening coming on the 16th.  So earlier today I was seeing when trips could be booked - couldn't book the 7th but was able to book starting on the 8th.  I partially listened to Ford's opening plan but didn't hear anything specific to park openings though he fell back on his earlier message about allowing provincial travel starting on the 14th (again)... I'm so used to the goal posts moving that I wasn't too heartened about being able to book on the 8th.  Guess hearing from you swede leaves me feeling hopeful!

I've never stopped and taken a look... but it looks like it's from the campsite on Little Misty?

Hey Marko, I've got a 7 day trip booked from Rock Lake and plan to explore a lot of the lakes in that area (Louisa, Galeairy, Welcome, Rence, Pen, etc - not necessarily in that order).  We exit the park on June 20.  I've been heading into the park mid June for years now... not sure why my buddy and I are such gluttons for punishment but we do have a good time (maybe it's the fantastic fishing ;-)

Not saying that I'm current on this subject, but I did the loop from Opeongo through Big Crow, Lavielle and Dickson etc to get back to Opeongo in 2016.  At this time Dickson was really green; pretty matched the colour of the foliage around the lake.  When I returned in 2020, Dickson had returned to it's more natural colour and looked 'normal'.  I asked the driver of the water taxi from AO the status of Dickson as it looked like the bloom was over and he told me that the tests werecoming back clean and it was just bureaucratic red tape that was holding up the all clear (I'm paraphrasing here).  Would be nice that this was resolved as I loved the scenery around Hardy bay and Dickson and would like to spend a bit more than a couple of hours just paddling through.  Anybody have any personal experience last summer/fall?

Hawkins Lake?  Don't remember what the portage looked like (was near the end of a long windy day) but the lake looks right... imagine storm clouds on the horizon.
