I can't speak to the fishing from experience but the string of lakes between Longbow and Shippagew could be worth a shot . The easterly site on Longbow is beautiful for a basecamp. I'd bet the lakes through to Shippagew don't see much traffic. According to Jeff's Map primarily lakers and brookies in that are however.

Is official "Ice Out" based on conditions at Opeongo?? When water taxi can travel on end to the other?? I seem to recall this however would be cool if there was a Live Web Cam there. I believe AO use to have one. Not certain if still active.

Reminds me of Baron River below Baron Canyon. Beautiful shot.

I have the NRS Dive/Rescue boot. Shorter than Boundary but I like them. Comfortable with a decent sole. Same as we use on FD . I don't mind portaging in them. Like any wet shoe it is nice to get out of them at the end of a long day however.

Cool. I was beginning to think I was the only one NOT using quilts lol. I use thermarest between layers. Full length durring shoulder season and winter then a 3/4 prolite in summer. Recently find myself considering how a quilt would work inside the sleeve of Hennessy. To avoid installing quilt on exterior or hammock. I'm feeling it would still compress but less. Would certainly not retain full loft and may not come up around you enough . Any thoughts on this method?

Fjallraven Hatfield bucket hat dark grey. Received as gift with tags removed so can't return. Too small for me. It's a medium. Sizing is in photos. $65 was paid plus tax and shipping. Like to get $65 to put toward ordering a large. If interested let me know. Nice hat. Great for tripping. Had a similar one but lost in Cuba. . Can mail or maybe deliver if convenient. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the kind words, Rob. (Sorry I took this topic off course
) PS Still remember our encounter many years ago, us hooking up on the Pet, with us going up and you going down to Farm lake. You still have that rope you forgot? smiley face)
for me, a more qualified "bucket list" item that I currently can't afford is for my brother and I to do a fly in, somewhere in the Canadian remoteness. Getting dropped off with a canoe and spending a week + w/out anything other than our camping gear, (not flyin cabin locations) and experiencing nothing other than wildlife and great fishing![]()
Watch Northern Scavengers Gateway to the Arctic on Youtube for some motivation. These guys do a great job on videos and every trip could be a bucket list for me. Crossing Labrador is another great series. So many epic trips. Something for everyone. 30 days to more achievable overnighters

It's probably been 10 years since I have been there. I remember it being more of a hammock site when I was there . Not a whole lot of room for tents. We can be creative with hammocks but can anyone enlighten me as to how many tents it would fit realistically ? Our group of 6 or sometimes 7 typically has 4 hammocks and 2 to 3 , 2 person tents. Would we fit? We like single site lakes with little to no through traffic. TIA.
