OK, let's get more aggressive with the clues. Though I wouldn't call this a heavily-visited lake, one could get there in one day: either a long day from a busy put-in or a short day from a more remote one.

We have a winner!

It is Dividing Lake, whose name could refer to the way its southern arm divides into two bays (natural) or that the lake is divided between two provincial parks, or more historically, two townships (unnatural). Taken from the portage that divides into trails to Whatnot and Little Coon lakes. A long day from Smoke Lake or a short day from Dagger. You're up, MartinG.
