Personal reflections on why I love Algonquin Park

With the holiday season looming, I often think about outdoor plans for the new year while reflecting on past ones. As part of this, APP holds a special place in my heart. I was raised in the Muskoka countryside, but moved away once I was an adult. Growing up, I always felt solace in the forests that surrounded us. When I was anxious or confused, or when things weren't great at home, nature was my escape. The rocks, plants and animals did not judge, and everything simply existed in its own right. Many years later, the need for natural escape remains an innate part of my being. Whether solo or with companions, the Park is like my second, peaceful home and I am so thankful for its existence. With so much to explore and soak in, it's an absolute treasure worthy of my utmost gratitude and respect.

Merry Christmas to everyone, and all the best with your new adventures!
