    Low maintenance portages Thunder to Rainbow

    Hi all,

    I'm going to be up on Canoe Lake for the long weekend and am thinking about doing a day trip loop up through Drummer to Lupus to Rainbow and back down Potter Creek. I've never been north of Thunder or west of Rainbow and am wondering how difficult the portages between Thunder and Rainbow are. I'm undecided as to how much frustration I want to put myself through this weekend, and if those portages are in bad shape I might just hold off til another time. Anyone been through there recently?

    Hey dude, I used to take tougher folks on a single day guided trip on that loop. It isnt too bad, back in the day the Rainbow-canoe used to be mental but it has since been re-aligned. Other than that, the ones around snowbird you just have to keep your head up to stay on the trail.
