You might be using a lot of memory if the software is automatically resizing images.

Image info: 1,024px × 768px (scaled to 671px × 503px)

That's a big reason to ask that folks resize before posting, and for limiting the size of images.

No go! When I hit the "Submit" button, the browser locks-up!

After photoless posting, I've gone into "Edit" mode to try and reload photo URL. It again shows up in input field ...

Now the process completes and it posts the photo!
