Source for quote (at bottom) was on the "Alerts and Advisories" page of the park's official website at ... https://www.ontarioparks.ca/park/algonquin/alerts
Reservation website now shows two distinct areas .. "458 - Cedar West" and "458 - Cedar East".

Cedar Lake's campsite numbering on this website's PCI has not been altered. However, a demarkation line between the west and east halves has been added to the PCI map.

Thanks.  I booked out of Cedar this past summer and had to guess where East and West were.  So much easier on North Tea and Opeongo where there are narrows clearly differentiating.

I thought something new to read would be fun!

In Algonquin Park, where the trees stand tall,
Paddles a canoeist named Barry, having a ball.
His favorite spot? Cedar Lake, so grand,
With paddle in hand, he explores the land.

"Hello, Mr. Beaver!" Barry calls with delight,
As the beaver just nods, busy with his night.
The loons sing a tune, a serenade so sweet,
While Barry hums along, tapping his feet.

He tells silly jokes to the fish in the lake,
Who splash in response, for goodness' sake!
A turtle pops up, with a slow, steady grin,
Barry waves back, "How've you been?

The sun starts to set, painting skies with flair,
Barry's adventures are beyond compare.
With a heart full of joy and a spirit so free,
He paddles back home, as happy as can be.

So here's to Barry, and his watery quest,
On Cedar Lake, he finds his rest.
May his days be filled with laughter and cheer,
For in Algonquin Park, there's no place more dear!

Thanks Fred. Yes, a solo trip can get a bit odd, especially when one "talks to the animals"!

Thanks to Cody for bringing it to our attention that as of last year, there are now two reservation areas for Cedar Lake .. Cedar Lake East and Cedar Lake West.
So when you're reserving a trip, make sure you're specifying the correct reservation area. The PCI will be updated shortly to reflect this change.
Here are illustrations of the original map and the new maps .. how the PCI will be showing them mapwise going forward ....
