My tripping buddy and I are both experienced Algonquin backcountry trippers. We're interested in trying our first solo trips, and thought it would be fun to each do a 3-4 day easy/medium loop, one person going clockwise, one counter-clockwise, and meeting in the middle for one night.

Any suggestions?

What about a Rock Lake loop. one goes down to Pen/Welcome, one goes into Louisa.. meet on Rence/Harry day 2.
I guess it depends on what you consider easy/medium... one big portage involved and it would be less fun for person #2 on day 1 with four days of food haha,

Hadn't occurred to me that we could use two different access points and criss cross (like the Smoke - Cache pair). That opens up a lot of possibilities. So begins a winter of endless staring at Jeff's map.

Great suggestions all...thank you. I'll report back on what we decide.

If it works, you should race to the campsite!
