We've put this route off for years due to the long drive coming from Kingsville.  This was the year however.  We arrived at Barron Canyon Trail around 130pm after a drive from Port Sydney.  We hiked the trail then headed to access  A38. Unloaded and ran the boats to the put in while the drivers shuttled a van to the take out at A51. I don't recall what time we finally left paddlingthe Cascades but we hit the furthest site across from the 60m portage around 430pm. Set camp, dinner and drinks under cold, constant drizzle.  We had a pack of wolves howling  around midnight. They sounded real close. Like within  100m. Who knows but minutes later we heard more that sounded miles away. Thursday  we set off for Highfalls lake. Stashed most of our gear at the Ooze end of the 300m before heading to check out highfalls area. Hiked there then headed back toward Opalescent  for night 2. Stone couch site was too exposed for us to stay  and we settled on the site adjacent to the 750m to Bringham Lake. What a beautiful  campsite depsite being attached to the portage.  This however made for an easy departure in the am. We hit the canyon  by 11 Friday morning and were treated  to the most sun we had seen in days. The Canyon is Majestic  to say the least .  We had one more night and arrived at the 5th site below the canyon around 230pm. Enjoyed what was left of the afternoon 🌞. Heard a moose calling and walking up the rivers edge around 1am. Another pretty nice campsite. Saturday we finished up taking out by 10ish. We shuttled the cars around and were back in Port Sydney around  330/4pm after lunch at Canoe Lake. All in all another great trip with the boys.

Fantastic photos.  What a gorgeous location.  Well worth the rain you endured for the first little while!!

Thanks guys. This route was a long time coming. Shorter than we're  use to but well worth it.
