The Petawawa downstream of Travers is characterized by exposed bedrock on very shallow soil. Dominated by coniferous and some mixed forests. With the exception of Whitson Lake which kinda looks like it belongs in the Carolina's.
I don't think sandy pines is characteristic of a large swath of the park. On the East side you will find that on Radiant, Travers, East shore of Grand, a spit on McManus. That's about it.
