It was my first time in this area of the park and I decided to do a quick there-and-back to Shirley Lake for 3 days, with a day trip into Ryan Lake during my rest day.

I've paddled through Shirley twice but never camped there. I think I'll plan fall trip to Shirley. Thanks for enlightening me!

Just got back from Shirley with my family. My 3 and 5 year olds nailed the Portage trail better than the teenagers I used to bring back in there as part of an outdoor ed crew.

The sites at the north end of the lake offer awesome solitude.

@martin I'm sure it would be a lovely fall trip - easy but gorgeous views

@zemantics I agree about the sites in the north, they're tucked away and it feels like you're on your own mini-Shirley lake
