Hi Folks!,

Hope everyone is enjoying the last remnants of the nicer weather we have :-)  Thought I'd share some pics/details from a recent trip...

Did you drive, walk, or paddle to Dahlia Station? Did you notice if there was anywhere suitable to park at the border? If been wondering about the Indian River for a winter trip.

WRT to the Lake Travers Truck.  On the assumption that this is the truck remains just off the trail from the access point to the Turtle Lodge chimneys, then it's been vandalized.  It was in fairly reasonable shape in the spring of 2018.

Nice pics!!! A few buddies and I are headed up on Wednesday. We had a trip semi-planned but the schedule fell through a few days ago so we too are going to base camp and hike a few trails; Mizzy lake, centennial ridges and a few others. Looking so forward to it!!!

Nope - It's a different truck.  This one is on a campsite on Travers L.  Funny I explored around Turtle Club just after your pic...:-)

I walked.  I originally debated bush whacking from Log Canoe L, but walking seemed to work out better...  Note there is active logging in the area, so I was sure to get right off the road at the first sound of any vehicle, and obtained appropriate permissions prior to going to take the pics of Dahlia...

Parking - Yup, there's a widening on the road to park a car right out of the way...

:-)

Thanks Ash! Appropriate permissions? Does that mean you asked the Park or did you approach the AFA? I assume the widening you speak of was on Beachnut Lake Rd., right?

Ash, in addition to what we discussed offline, just wanted to say - super cool find man!! The boxcar is one thing but I am insanely intrigued about the Dahlia station ruins, so much so that I may head out for a hike in early November if I can. I think that would be a great place to see some history.

Really cool find, congratulations!
