Thanks for the link SP. Ordered a pair Monday morning and Canada Post delivered Wednesday afternoon. I have a pair of German army issue wool pants from the second world war and they are getting long in the tooth so when I saw those and read the reviews I was hooked. Will test them out this weekend with our impending cold temperatures.

I've had a pair for years! they're great for when it's around freezing, but a little warm for warmer temps. While not as tough as the checked pants, they're plenty tough for most activities- one warning though- for the first few washes (I machine wash gentle with woolite) dry them flat on an old blanket for the first few washes to obtain a "set", once the knit tightens up you can hang them.
