Yup, black flies & mosquitoes both out & biting. At this point if you head out unprepared get ready to donate some blood!
So here it is...after three weeks into May the bugs are out and aggressive. Make note of it, folks...even during an early ice-out year the black flies in Algonquin generally start to get 'bad' in the 3rd and 4th week of May.
We just got out from Louisa/Big Porc and the bugs were surprisingly good. They'd get you if you went looking for them, but I've had WAY worse in May/June.
