Hi Barry. Way off topic but your photo prompted my comment. I think you should consider reestablishing your photo contest. I'm not sure if you would need to reel it back in from AO or not, but they seem to have abandoned it, (or perhaps I am just not seeing the notices.)

Hi Swedish. You're zeroing-in pretty good. Back in the day, it seems that a few portages from the RR to one's destination was typical. Eagle Lake was a popular destination and Ralph Bice played a big part in that. Now ask, "Where would people leave the train to work their way north to Eagle Lake?

Yes Drew! I took this photo from the rock point of campsite #13 (PCI), looking southwest. The Western Uplands Backpacking Trail (old RR bed) is behind the trees on the left.

Between two of the campsite's tentsites is the concrete foundation of an old 20 x 20' structure, nearly totally overgrown by trees.

Across the lake, to the north, is the only private cottage on the lake .. the old family cottage of Ralph Bice, after whom Butt Lake (originally called Eagle Lake) was renamed.

By travelling by Casey and Daisy Lakes, many people would visit Eagle Lake. This campsite must have been a very busy stop on the railway!
