Raccoon Lake is kind of fitting in a way. Didn't Raccoon fish this area back in the day?

I think that’s a pretty reasonable change. I don’t know where the name of the campground and lake came from, possibly from the slang for actual racoons, but I know for sure what the pejorative use of the word is.
