Tim river this summer

Last year we did the Canoe up to Big Trout to McIntosh lake we took four nights doing this loop and although it was a tough trip we all enjoyed it. This year we were thinking of trying the Tim river going in at Magnetawan Lake and probably taking the portage off the Tim river to Shah Lake then heading to Rain Lake then back out at Magnetawan Lake. Hoping to do four nights. Has anyone done this loop or have any opinions on it?

Re: Tim river this summer

You can complete that loop in 4 nights no problem.  The Tim is a beautiful and wild feeling area of the park where you will see minimal to no traffic.

A few years ago myself and a 3 others (2 of us paddling solo) went in at Mag to Queer, down the Tim to Shippagew, Grassy bay, Misty and back out in 4 nights.  Water levels were at a record low and the only longer than anticipated day was the Tim from Queer to Ship.

Reports from 2020 sounded like the Tim and Pet were back up to at least decent water levels.
