    Good first episode Matt!  Looking forward to the series.  Thought it was interesting that Mark packs his kitchen gear in the bottom of the food barrel?  Wondering how they'll treat Jump Off points as well now.  They are reservable in the new system so people may need to keep an eye on that.  That being said, I don't think I ever saw the jumps offs full at least over by Achray.

    Thanks Gord!  He doesn't always put the kitchen gear into the barrel but because of how full main pack was, they had to.

    Stuck at home with nothing to do? Watch Mark in the Park! The trip finally begins tonight! Episode 2 starts playing tonight at 9pm on YouTube. Mark and Iain set off from Access #27, Cedar Lake and head up and into Catfish Lake making some stops along the way.  Enjoy!

    FYI, the name Corbeil on the cross on Petawawa River is pronounced Corbay (french name).

    My mother told me about my great grandfather who was a logger on the Petawawa River back in the late 1880's.  He died there by falling off a log boom and drowning.  All they found was one of his boots and his body was never found.

    Enjoyed this immensely and helps with my cabin fever!

    Thanks for the correction boknows!  That's crazy how they never found your great grandfather.  It's sad to think that's how many men died during the drives back then.  

    Glad you enjoyed it!  The cabin fever is especially high this year.
