Happy Isle... coming out at Proulx Loop

Having enjoyed reading many of the trips and tips I thought I'd reach out with a handful of questions for the more experience travellers into the Interior. I've been into the Interior a handful of times and will be doing so again towards the end of July, and from what I've been reading hopefully the bug situation will have calmed down. Taking the water taxi up to the Happy Isle Portage I'm looking at doing a 3 nights with my son-in-law coming out via Proulx from Small Crow. Looking for campsite suggestions each of the 3 nights. The route will take us from Happy Isle, Merchant, Big Trout, Red Pin Bay, Lake La Muir, Hogan to Big Crow/Little Crow and out at Proulx. Any suggestions would be truly appreciated.

From a 'campsite suggestion' perspective, knowing which lakes you're spending your nights on on would be handy!

Nothing has yet been booked which is why I left that open. That being said, I'd expect our 1st night be spent on Merchant or if Happy Isle has better sites I'd be willing to entertain them. As for the 2nd night I figure we'd make our way to La Muir or Hogan via Big T. In fact would that be doable (we're in good shape and not novice canoers)? Would Big Trout be a better option for a 2nd night and then spend our 3rd on Big Crow?

the island site on Red Pine Bay is awesome... wood is an issue though. But the view and fire pit are top notch.

Was about to say the same thing. In good weather, it's my favorite campsite that I've stayed at so far in Algonquin.

Here's my campsite report for the site: https://algonquinbeyond.com/campsites/red-pine-bay-campsite-4/

And OP if you stay on Big Trout I've got a couple reports as well: https://algonquinbeyond.com/algonquin-campsites/
