I have 2 ~25 year old hiking packs that are both showing their age.
The cordura on both has a vinyl/pvc/something coating that is deteriorating.
One is more of a delamination: it is browning and peeling off. This was a cheap one when i got it. The other is sticky and delaminating in spots and literally smells of excrement. This one is the old MEC Seratus brand.
I like the bags, and they are structurally sound, but the coatings failure make them unusable.
Is there some soak/wash that will eat away at the coatings and leave the cordura?
Thanks
