Big Bissett May long weekend

Looking at Big Bissett for the May long weekend it looks like the lake is half in Algonquin and the other half is not do you still book through the park or do you just go and pray for the best it also looks like you can drive to the lake if so is the road well marked coming down the Bissett cr. Rd. or is the road after the gate

Thanks

Re: Big Bissett May long weekend

Book through the Park, access point 24.  There are three low maintenance sites on the lake according to the FOAO map but Jeff's map shows only two sites within the Park boundary.  Jeff's Map also shows two sites on the part of the lake outside the Park boundary and you don't need a permit for those.  But you also don't know if those two site do exist.  His map shows a site on the west side of Dividing Lake which is outside the Park boundary but I searched up and down the shore last summer and couldn't find any sign of the site.  Maybe someone could comment on whether or not the two sites outside the Park are there.

The Reservation Web site map and Jeff's Map both show the access point right at Big Bissett Lake but the FOAP Canoe Route Map shows the access point at the Park boundary near the Bissett cabin and gives directions to that location.
