Crotch Lake access?  Sounds like everything you are looking for,, relative to size of lakes, portages and fishing opportunities (also a cabin that looks like it's on your check list)

IMO - relative to online reservations - from 2 steps forward to 4 steps backwards - relative to calling and talking to staff over the years it has consistently improved- not that this opinion means much in the grand plans of the powers to be

I submitted a likewise message to them a few days ago and got an immediate reply exactly like the one above - I followed up asking if they had any estimated timeline for resolution like “within weeks? Months? Or next year?” They never responded back to that question

"I just received the notice from Ontario Parks.com as well and replied accordingly (below). Hopefully they will receive enough notices from many of us to add this feature to their reservation system. Fingers crossed.

"Thank you for your update on your new reservation system! My brother and I have been visiting Algonquin Provincial Park interior now for over  a decade every year now and plan on coming up to this great provincial park for many years to come. I like the ergonomics of your new reservation system but am unable to find any feature that would tell me how many sites have been reserved on a particular lake along with how many more were open. This was an essential feature for us as we planned our trips. Can you let me know how I can find this out or has this feature been removed? If so, I truly believe it is a major step backword in the reservations features. Thanks for your response and advise on how I can find out how filled up a lake is in regards to reservations. Sincerely.           Andy W

"
I'll include another post if I hear back from them. Hopefully enough of comments about this feature will have a positive impact on them adding this feature back into their reservation system

I’m sure old news for many on the forum but for those new to exploring Algonquin from a canoe —- rocks used as a great anchor stuffed in a nylon sack with a rope to hold the canoe steady while fishing / taking that perfect photo

It was a pleasure to have connected with you a few years ago on Farm Lk  Bo - yeah I understand the challenges of the body as we get older - hopefully you will still be able to get to Crotch/Farm with minimal paddling and zero portaging - PS still remember hearing you playing your guitar  that evening between camp sites

Have a great time Foxriderz! We did a loop, traversing through Wenona a few years ago. Sorry I can't remember much about the camp site but for the lake, it was a really nice little gem. If ya'll are looking for getting away from the crowd's ya picked a good spot.

I looked long and hard and unfortunately couldn't find any photos. Sorry I couldn't help you out in that department . Solos post gives good perspective on the Canadian shield below the camp site. Looking at the photo, I "think" the swimming hole was to the right of the pup.  I would back up Stainless's perspective of the site. I "think" you could squeeze two tents in the area and there would be some room for a hammock as well. but it would be somewhat tight. Also if memory serves me, the fire pit needed rebuilt as well. Never made it back to the thunderbox. Haven't a clue it's condition

Sorry I couldn't have been more help. Regardless, FWIW, I would stay a few nights on that site fer sure ! Have a great trip !  <edit> PS that bass fishing was good!
