Some nice pics in there.

Any hints as to where on Grand Lake the old camboose was?  South bank of the Barron at its outflow from Grand? In the little bay on the southeast shore of Grand Lake (west of the big hill) opposite the four campsites on the north shore of Grand Lake?  At the start of the Grand Lake to Wenda Lake portage? None of the above?

Thanks Bob.

It’s south shore of Grand L, near to where indicated on Jeff’s new map :-)

Thanks Peek!

AlgonquinLongTripper - A friend I was with did a little fishing, but no luck :-(  The portages were no problem.  Hmm, we saw 1 other group at the E end of Little Cauchon L, but a couple others at the W end of the lake - So not too many others, but we were there early in the season...

great work ash,, back in the day these places must of been something special to many people,, old haunts now??

Thanks!  Agreed!  I imagine they were quite thriving once upon a time. But yes certainly feels there’d be many stories to hear if the ruins could talk…

Awesome!!! Amazing pics and locations - I think you may have decided the location of one of my 2023 trips!

Very cool!

Thanks!  You'd love the Mill and Camp Minnesing.  The camp is quite extensive - It's been a while, but Kish-Kaduk comes to mind when thinking of a similar footprint...  Certainly pm me if you'd like any coords...

Are there any rules surrounding people marking their own trails?  On a trip earlier this year I came across trail marking tape someone had marked (every 40'ish feet) to a no portage lake, finding a fishing net at the other end...  Assume a trail to someone's secret fishing spot, but perhaps used for stocking, monitoring, etc?  Either way, curious what / if there's any rules surrounding marking such trails?
