When I made my reservation for tomorrow a couple of weeks ago, I made a comment/complaint about exactly that. I mentioned that the old site showed how many sites and how many were booked. I always booked purely on that fact alone. To try and stay away from the crowds. As of today, no feedback.

Well it's supposed to be 2 deg Sunday night in the park. Hoping for frost lol. That would sure put a fork in their spokes! I hope! I'm in southern Ont too. Where I live I back onto green space. Surprisingly enough the bugs are never bad. Almost non-existent. So I never know how they really are. Crossing my fingers for next Thurs

I sure hope so! I'm eager to get in next week-end! A lot of reservations already. First lake I looked at and it's full Fri and Sat night. I guess the bugs don't scare away everyone lol

62South no way! I was supposed to be on Burntroot as well. Big Trout tonight.
I made it to the park this past weekend for some quality fishing thou. So nice to be back. Friday was so dead it reminded me of what fall camping was like 20 years ago. Sunday not so much. The forecast last Thurs looked like crap for the week-end. Turned out absolutely beautiful. A little rain around lunch time Fri. That was it.

Is there a way to obtain a day permit online? Can't seem to find anything. The gate is probably still closed as l just called them and the voicemail is full lol. B) Just wondering if they still have the self service machine at the gate. Been awhile since l've been at the west gate. Can always call them Monday l guess. Don't feel like waiting around till 9am. I'd have my limit by then lol.

So.... I can go fishing on crown land? I can't seem to find any concrete evidence saying so. I know, no camping and no camp fires (no shore lunch). I'll be solo so no social distancing is involved. I haven't heard of any ridiculous tickets being handed out for anything related.

Checking the pic from yesterday. Looks as though LOTR is pretty much open. I see the park received a dusting too. That doesn't help melt things. Should be good to go for next week.

There were a few lengthy dark spots. But ya totally looks all white now. Won't be long. With this wind we're having too bad it wasn't a little warmer. Would have taken care of it lol

You beat me to it Peek! Great tool isn't it? I use it a lot for viewing the Niagara river in the fall too. Looking at the Algonquin web cam, there are changes to Fork lake now too. Finger are super crossed for May 1st!

I know Pickerel Lake thawed on the 14th. I was up north this weekend. South river was open this Friday. Heard the loons for the first time this year. Always amazing. For anyone who follows the satellite pics, today there is a great shot. All lakes to the east west and south of the park are open. You can tell where the park is right now with the last of the frozen lakes. Kinda cool.
