Will it make much difference when the deadfall is covered by 6 or 8 feet of snow?

You will be taking 2 substantial saws, right?  One can't predict what will happen.

Quote:  "We are wondering if anyone is familiar with these stretches of trail. Are they clear?"

Not sure what you mean by this.  "Clear" in what way?

The snowplow stops at 14 kms from Rain Lake.  It can be a formidable amount of snow blocking the road from there until Rain Lake.

To start at Rain Lake, your first problem is parking.  You can't park on the side of the road, or in the snowplow turnaround.

Or are you planing to be dropped off?

The lone portage for Tim - Rosebary was a pain in the behind, many years ago, due to the poorly executed steps on the "down" side.  I found it easier to just carefully walk down the steep slope.
Not sure you would want to do it while carrying anything.

I wouldn't attempt it nowadays without my hiking poles.

Rob, I didn't know about the problem with logging in.  (I haven't had a problem.)

If there is anyone else having a problem, please let me know.

Ah, it's always the "simple" things that do the most damage.

Hope all heals well, and you're back on track soon.

I certainly appreciate how much effort goes into trip reports.  And I imagine that video editing must be even more frustrating and time consuming.  Thanks to everyone who manages to find the time and patience to provide us with them.

Hi Martin
I'm on  CCR, and yes, it's been having technical issues.

We can log in, but can't post in the forums.

People have been able to post new items in the Routes database, and new members can register.

There's some other problems, too, but hopefully things will get fixed soon.
