I don't see an end to this soon in Peterborough both Canadian tire stores are a free for all with no one controlling the door traffic. Stores are absolutely packed with people just wandering around just to get out of house. I can see a big jump in numbers soon coming with the way people are acting as if nothing ever happened.

My guess is the parks are closed for the year as it will be too much work maintaining clean facilities the way people are acting and not caring.

Pretty sure Swift recommends these in their boats. Sorry I’ve never used one.

Oh the older I get the more appealing that looks, I can imagine a nice leisurely paddle in the evening listening to the loons with that at my back.

Complete fire ban just announced for the province today so will that will put a damper on crown land camping as well.

I used the eureka alpinelite and have never had a worry about it. Been a good tent for a lot of years now.

I wonder if a sleeping pad might help out a bit.

I actually tried that at 3am on the 3rd night.  It's a double layered hammock so I put the pad in between the layers and it was not good.  I found the pad kept migrating to the middle of the hammock so when I laid on the diagonal, half my body would be off the pad.

I was afraid of that maybe happening with mine being a single layer with no pocket and my squirming around at night so will work on finding that perfect quilt solution then.

I'm well set for tarps with the XL tarp for the hammock and my living tarp with screened attachment for the site.

I'm thinking the toughest part for me will be learning the best way to set it up and figuring the best tree distances for my set up.

Can't wait to try it.

Made the buy today of a Clark Jungle Hammock with an XL fly. Will be an interesting change from sleeping on the lumpy bumpy ground. Can't wait to get out and try it in the spring.

Here is the link to the hammock if you want to check it out https://www.junglehammock.com/product/camo-tx-270-with-weathershield-camping-hammock/

Been three days so far and more bites than I've ever had. When the winds are up all is good but when it goes away they are still vicious. Sorry to be bearerof bad news but just go prepared and all will be good.

Thanks everyone and bo is right, poor man's Dow riggers is what I call them. A three way rig with heavy weight and you good to go. You have to pick and choose the time of day and locations by they can be found, so far I've boated two. Today opted for the bass fishing and they are always hungry and fun to play with.

The trout I did catch were in deep water but suspended at about the 30ft mark.

One more night then back to reality.
