Hi Jackie,
My favourite kid friendly site is on Ralph Bice Lake. It has plenty of shallow sandy bottom for your kids to splash in. On Jeff's map it's the site directly above the "P" in Ralph. Depending on when you plan on going it may be hard to find it open.
Good Luck

Thanks for your reply!
Is this the island one?

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and wanted some advice. We are wanting to plan a trip with our 2 kids this summer - ages 3 and 6. My husband and I used to to backcountry camping in Algonquin every year before kids but we haven't taken them yet. We want only a 2-3 night trip with little, if any, portaging and a fairly short canoe ride (1.5 hour max I think) so sticking to right near the access points is key I think.

Any campsites that are extra great for kids (e.g., beach, big cleared out area), or ones that we should stay away from? (e.g., cliff, very deep water, bug-filled swamp nearby).

We live in Kitchener so we are thinking around access points 3, 4,  or 5/6 (hwy 60). Thanks so much!

Also, any tips for backcountry camping with young kids that I maybe wouldn't have thought of?

Jackie
