Re: Sleeping Pad of Choice

I have an Xtherm . pretty sure I got it at https://www.liveoutthere.com  when they had a 25% off any regular priced item sale.. Might have been  http://www.altitude-sports.com though. Both of those places have member discounts you can use at the same time liveoutthere is 10% and Altitude is 5%.. they will sometimes exclude brands though. All sites do that though and Therma-rest is often an exclusion..

Oh and I have seen Xtherm's in store at Atmosphere before..

Re: Sleeping Pad of Choice

Taiga Works is another choice for outdoor pads in Canada.  I bought the Neo All Season from them last year and it's a great pad (although a little noisy when you move around on it).   https://www.taigaworks.ca/Sleeping-Bags-c7

Re: Sleeping Pad of Choice

So I found this interesting..

I just picked up a Klymit Static V Luxe. One because I wanted a bigger more comfortable pad than my regular size Xtherm for when I'm not portaging that far or just base camping. And 2 because I saw this pad on sale.

It is 3 inches think, 30 inches wide and 76 inches long so pretty darn big and noticeably heavier than my xtherm at 26 ozs.

First off it is very comfortable but what I found interesting is that the pack size is actually smaller than my xtherm even though it is something like 10 oz heavier and 10 inches wider.

Pic side by side next to a 500 ml nalgene. Xtherm is on the right.

R value is low  at 1.3 but I have the Xtherm for colder weather.( they do make an insulated version)
At this pack size I will use it more than I thought for sure.

Re: Sleeping Pad of Choice

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I received a few MEC gift cards for my birthday last month so I picked up the Therm-a-Rest All Season Large.
