Wow...camper I'm sorry your trip was wrecked by the disrespect of others. It pains me to see others treat our park with such disrespect. Good call on leaving.  I would have done the same.   Thank you for posting the video. I can only hope it creates awareness

Re: Camper905's YouTube Videos...

What the heck! Talk about clueless campers, hauling spoilable meat products around in black garbage bags and a suitcase! They gave BEAR ATTRACTANTS and 'leaving-a-trace' new levels of ignorance, let alone the concepts of food health/safety. It looks like they simply didn't know how to cope and just abandonned their supplies.

Too bad that such ignorant and ill-prepared people can even get into the backcountry. Back a number of years ago, then-park-super John Winters was trying to gather support for a skills-and-ethics course for backcountry access .. along with a training center for that and advanced skills education. Too bad the 'powers-that-be' didn't support it! Even an online 'test', like the motorboat operators test, would familiarize people with the basic skills, rules, ethics and expectations associated with access to the backcountry. But I'm not holding my breath!

Unreal. Sorry for you man.. too bad you didn’t just stay on Tim Lake instead, it has a couple overflow sites.. but really crappy that you couldn’t do the trip as planned.

You made the right move though (as I'm sure you already know) in choosing to leave.. no way in hell would I be staying at that site more than a few minutes just to photograph it for the report.. its only a matter of time until that stash is found by the animals of the forest..

Re: Camper905's YouTube Videos...

I came across something similar unfortunately this year on Kiosk lake. Arrived at my favorite site to find garbage everywhere. They also brought meat in from the grocery store (foam packing) but they ate most of the actual food but all of the packaging was scattered everywhere, it was also a windy day so allot of it blew back into the bush. There were at least 5 empty tin cans as well as a few empty liquor bottles and many empty beer bottles and cans. It was a horrible sight to see. I ended up taking another site with the intentions of cleaning that site up the next day but I ended up walking up to a thunder storm so it didn't happen. I reported it on my way out and when I checked back up on it later in the week it was 100% cleaned up.

Re: Camper905's YouTube Videos...

Yes, its one thing to be disrespectful, but this is a whole other level of negligence.  It puts people in danger when that kind of food odour is present

I would have done what you did, if i couldnt move onto another site.
