My detachable yoke can be clamped onto an infused gunwale with the clamp on the inside. The clamp is metal and I wanted to soften it a bit,, I applied layers of a liquid rubber but don't remember the name.

For you near Algonquin its worth trying out the Swift Osprey and the Keewaydins. There are a lot of seat options.. a semi custom boat in the Keewaydin

The Heron is fine with a tripping load. Not so fine for fishing empty unless you have snorkel and goggles and intend to do a fish census

The new Clipper Caribou S looks fine for the larger paddler.

At this time with the exchange rate being sucky, American boats are not a bargain.
