Re: Where in Algonquin 29

It is Maple Cr. below Erables but not the right section.  The hint to the location was in my last post.

Opposite end of the P535 that Peek is guessing.

Re: Where in Algonquin 29

Peek has it.  It's the section between the 645m and 535m portages on Maple Cr. looking from the 645m portage landing towards the 535m to One Mile Lake.  Maple Creek south of Erables from the 90m portage to One Mile lake was brutal last year.  Some sections there wasn't even enough water to float a toy canoe and the beaver dams were endless.  Surprisingly this was the best stretch of the creek as we didn't have to pole or drag the canoe, we just portaged across the meadow to the next portage./

You're up Peek.

Re: Where in Algonquin 29

I really want to see this one solved. Like Peek, I feel like I've been there. However, as I also would have guessed Loughrin Creek and given the other clues and guesses, I'm going to have to name somewhere I haven't actually been. I've got to think this is either along the Amable du Fond north of Birchcliffe Lake or the adjoining section of Maple Creek below One Mile Lake. Since this is way too general to constitute a guess, I'll say Maple Creek between the 535 and 645 metre portages. These appear close enough on the map that walking across the meadow between the two would be relatively doable.

Re: Where in Algonquin 29

Trillium16, this one was solved, in reply #22 (declared in #24), January 17. As you can see your guess is correct but Peek got it 13 days ago and the game has moved on 3 more rounds

Re: Where in Algonquin 29

Thanks Dan. Oops-that's embarrasing! I see my problem was I hadn't moved on to the 2nd page of the thread. Rookie mistake LOL!
