Not Ragged.

OK now that we're past the 3 day mark I'll give a more conventional clue: so far, John McClane's guess has been the closest hydrologically speaking, and I suppose by distance as well.

It's not Clydegale, but that would have fit the clue correctly, since Clydegale drains into the Madawaska (the main one) by way of Pen Lake, and none of the other guesses were hydrologically connected with Clydegale other than through the Madawaska. So the clue would have still stood if it was Clydegale. But no.
