Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

After an impromptu portage (due to low water), we are happy to relaunch and go back to paddling instead of walking.

Where is this?

Some good guesses - but no, not Kooy Pond (field), the Grassy Narrows or Club lake.

Hey! no whole creeks / rivers! Gotta be between points (take out's or lakes, and obviously only if you're guessing a creek or river).

That being said - not Potter Creek!

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

I find that all the grassy creeks in Algonquin start to look the same after a while. I'll guess that it may have been one where the creek dried up on us and turned into a 6 inch wide mud path. We decided to turn around and go another way. Is it David Creek between Mubwayaka and the 3480 m portage to Rosebary?

Not David Creek. East of there (which doesn't help much given how west David Creek is, but it's a hint none the less!) And west of Rob's Club Lake guess.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

The grass is usually brown when I pass through there, but I'll wager a guess of Phipps.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

Is that the portage to Loontail off in the distance?  Seen from Latour Creek?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

More great guesses - but not Phipps or Latour Creek.

There is a portage off in the distance.

This might be a dead giveaway, but if I was standing 150 feet behind the camera - I wouldn't be in Algonquin park.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

Because of your hints I'm going to guess Park Lake. But still doesn't seem right.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.: 233

No Koko or Park..

It's not an 'offshoot' of a route - this water path is the route.
