Lauder Lake

Can anyone give me an approximation of how much of the 1075m portage into Lauder is eliminated in high water.  My
plan is go in either opening day or the next weekend.  Also, any tips on good campsites would be appreciated.  I am thinking of the first site on your left going in.  Anyone camp there?

If about 1/3 of this portage is eliminated, my 68 year old body might be able to carry my 80 lb. canoe and gear into Lauder.  If not, I would definitely consider renting a light weight canoe.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Lauder Lake

About 700m is eliminated (so it's reduced by about 2/3) :D
