Re: Where in APP 217

You got Petawawa River but I need something a bit more specific.

Re: Where in APP 217

Is this is spring beside the railbed just east of where it intersects with the Eustache portage?

I tried looking for it once, never found it. But your pic does not look like another of the other springs I've found - so wild guess.

Re: Where in APP 217

No it is not.
But it is beside a rail bed.

Looking East.
(I was standing in the same spot when I took both pics)

Re: Where in APP 217

Hmm, Peek's answer would have been my first guess...  So I'll wild guess 1400m Macdonald raps portage?

Re: Where in APP 217

Nope. But now I am interested in this Eustache Spring. Never heard of a spring just east of the portage to Eustache. And me thinks perhaps it has been confused with this one.

I've seen that spring on a number of occasions, however after finishing our last trip to Eustache Lake last summer I realized I had not seen it on the way in or out.   I don't know if I was just being unobservant or that something has happened to the pipe.

Re: Where in APP 217

Interesting YC. Thanks for the info. It makes sense that these things can go missing. This 'pipe' is actually just a piece of angle iron that has been jammed into the rocks where the spring trickles out. It is not noted on any maps that I am aware of but it has been here for at least 5 years.

Tripper you are getting further away.

Are these 2 guys getting close to the spot?

Re: Where in APP 217

Isn't that heading towards the Bypass Falls portage?

Re: Where in APP 217

That's right Tripper. From the upstream end of the Bypass Falls portage head up towards the rail line and you will find this ice cold spring.

You are up Tripper!
