Re: Fond Algonquin memories ....

Nothing against the Pens, but I was really hoping Nashville would take it. Mostly cause I'm a Montreal fan and I think Nashville winning would have been a nice slap in the face to the management of Montreal for ditching Subban the way they did. Either way, now I'm just said it's several months before the season picks up again.

Go Habs!! lol

Barry - I can relate.  My son, 12 is a Pens fan and has been for a long time.  We live in Buffalo.  When the Pens come to town it is like a Sid-fest in that building.  Makes me nuts watching the Sabres get killed year in and year out by them.  I just keep thinking "Wait 'til HIS team hits a 6-year playoff drought, THEN we'll see.....".  Like that will ever happen.....

Exactly. Pens would just tank to get 1st overall pick just like they did with Mario/Crosby/Malkin. All their cups are tainted.

All most as bad as a poor loser ........ keeping this Algonquin related of course...... would be back to back casts with a mouth ripping EGB treble hook .... landing a sucker , expecting a trout .
Sid seems ta be collecting quite a bit of hardware of late .......... Eh !

EGB, maybe your recollection of the facts is a bit tainted.  An argument can be made for the Lemieux pick, but the others?  Not a chance.  The year they qualified to draft Lemieux they won 16 games; the year before that they only won 18 games.  They never even won a division title from 1967 until 1990.  The 70's and 80's were tough decades to be Penguins fans.
