Petawawa River (bw Daisy and Little Misty)

Has anyone been on that stretch lately? I'm headed there this weekend and curious if there are water level issues there (or anything else I should know about).

Thanks!

Re: Petawawa River (bw Daisy and Little Misty)

We paddled this route on Monday.    The water levels are fantastic,   still lots of water.    It's a nice route.   You will hit a beaver dam about half way between the 450 portage and Little Misty which drops about a foot and half to 2 feet.   Keep eyes open for moose, we didn't see any but this is prime real estate for them.    The river itself  is a nice slow moving narrow winding river which is an easy paddle from either direction.    IF you are heading from Daisy after the first portage there is a waterfall, but after the 2nd portage there is a smaller set of falls and is a much nicer spot to take a break for lunch or relax sitting in a natural pool.   With the warm weather, watch out for leaches didn't see any on the Petawawa, but did in Misty and at number of other portages and lakes.

Have a blast, it's a beautiful spot.
