Whitson Lake to Coveo Lake Worth the Walk?

Hello Again,
Thanks for all the help/tips with my previous post. I think it's all settled and we are going to be staying on Whitson end of May.

Does anyone have any campsite suggestions? A chance at catching some fish from shore would be sweet (catfish/walleye).  I was thinking a site close to the five mile rapids would be best.

Also, was thinking for something to do we would walk the portage to Coveo lake and try some shore fishing, and maybe a couple of pools along the way.

Does anyone know if there are places to stop and shore fish once at Coveo or along the way? Or what the portage is like in general, IE can we see the water a good portion of the time?

Getting pretty excited about this time trip!

Thanks in advance!
Cloudy

Believe Maps by Jeff for the length of this portage, not the FOA map.
On average the portage is pretty good, an old road through the bush.  Not quite as good at the Coveo Lake end but still pretty easy.
There is minimal access to the river along the portage.  2 or 3 spots along its almost 5 km length.
