Re: Where in Algonquin? No.206

Well I'll throw out a total guess to get this started. Since it's Peek posting I know it's going to be completely obscure and North of 60, so I'll go with...

Little Tarn Lake.

lol

YES above Highway 60.

NO not Little Tarn Lake.

This lake is within a 50km radius of Little Tarn tho.

Edit: Corrected Tarn to Little Tarn

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.206

Sorry, not Tim Lake. Very west of Tim Lake.

You are correct in that, the photo is facing the 'canoe route'.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.206

Ah crap. I was thinking Tim Lake is very west of this lake. The old accidental switcharoo.

Let me try again:

Not Tim Lake - very east of Tim Lake.

(But to be fair, there are 17 lakes on a canoe route within Algonquin that are west of Tim Lake.. probably not 'Very West' thought ;) )

Roundbush ?

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it.

Okay - struck out on Wendigo - one question / hint request - are there cliffs to the left that are out of shot in the photo?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.206

What were you considering.. Stretch Lake?

No cliffs to the left.. or right. This pic is of the western half of the lake.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No.206

The 50km radius around Little Tarn Lake is a bit helpful as it would appear to rule out anything west Opeongo or Radiant. North of 60 doesn't help as much given the radius, but rules out a small bit of the panhandle.

For lack of a better guess, I'm going to say it's from the 1st campsite on river left after passing the ranger cabin below Crooked Chute on the Petawawa.
