Just back from Algonquin for Trout Opener April 22-24 2017

Unfortunately many of the smaller lakers along 60 were still mostly ice-covered….Lake of Two Rivers largely opened up while we were there but high winds kept us off…did go down Sunday Creek, through Norway and into Fork…some ice cover on the far end of Fork…marked surface water temperature at between 49-50C…also tried Kearney which was largely ice-free…saw almost no one with canoes or fishing...no fish caught and cold nights (-4C) but nice to get out paddling for the first time this year with my buddy TF nonetheless…if anyone is looking for any recent intel I'd be happy to try to help…JW
